Andhra Pradesh is transforming into a technology, investment, and innovation powerhouse, according to Lokesh's insights shared at Davos. In a series of meetings, Lokesh showcased the state's potential as a hub for cutting-edge technologies, attracting global investments, and fostering innovation. During his interactions, he proposed the establishment of a Global Delivery Centre in Visakhapatnam, leveraging the city's robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and thriving tech ecosystem to support AI, cloud, and digital operations. Lokesh also emphasized the importance of building a digital talent pipeline and strengthening startup ecosystems through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH).
In a separate meeting with Cambridge University Vice-Chancellor Debbie Prentis, Lokesh explored opportunities for joint research and curriculum development, focusing on climate awareness and advanced skills programs for students. The discussions centered around collaborations with universities in Andhra and IIT-Tirupati on AI, data science, and engineering initiatives. Additionally, Lokesh announced that Andhra Pradesh will host South Asia's most powerful quantum computer by July 2026 in the state's Quantum Valley Innovation District, in partnership with IBM and TCS. This initiative aims to integrate research, Ph.D., and postdoctoral programs, industry-ready quantum skill pipelines, and startup incubation, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a national hub for quantum technologies.
During his interactions with WEF officials and global tech leaders, including Tech Mahindra CEO Mohit Joshi, Lokesh highlighted the state's investment-friendly environment, emphasizing the 'Speed of Doing Business' model. This model aims to make Andhra Pradesh a 'Day-Zero Ready' destination by 2035, with parallel processing of approvals, MSME parks in all districts, and real-time digital governance to reduce delays. Lokesh's efforts underscore Andhra Pradesh's commitment to becoming a leading hub for technology, investment, and innovation, attracting global attention and fostering economic growth.
