The 2025 Associated Press NFL All-Pro Team has been announced, and it's packed with talent! Matthew Stafford leads the charge, but the roster also boasts some fresh faces and familiar stars. Let's dive in!
Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams takes the quarterback spot, edging out Drake Maye. Joining him on the first team are unanimous choices like Myles Garrett, Puka Nacua, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Bijan Robinson earns the running back nod, while Christian McCaffrey takes the All-Purpose role. Ja'Marr Chase and Trey McBride also make the cut, with McBride nearly sweeping the votes.
On the defensive side, Myles Garrett, Will Anderson Jr., and Micah Parsons dominate the edge rusher positions. Jeffery Simmons and Zach Allen are the interior defensive linemen.
"That's great. Needed that for real," said Parsons, highlighting the significance of the recognition.
Stafford's achievement is particularly noteworthy, as he secures his first All-Pro honor in his 17th season, a testament to his enduring skill. He led the league in passing yards and touchdowns, showcasing his exceptional performance.
But here's where it gets interesting... Stafford's journey to All-Pro status is a rare one. Only one other player, kicker Gary Anderson, had to wait as long to achieve this feat.
The Denver Broncos stand out with four first-team selections, including Garett Bolles, Quinn Meinerz, and Devon Key.
Cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, in their second seasons, also made the roster. Derek Stingley Jr. led the cornerback voting.
Creed Humphrey, Joe Thuney, and Penei Sewell are repeat selections. Garrett, with his record-breaking sack season, adds to his already impressive resume as a five-time All-Pro.
"That's crazy," Anderson said, acknowledging the honor of playing alongside Garrett and Parsons.
And this is the part most people miss... Eighteen players are first-timers, including five on special teams. This influx of new talent shows the league's evolving landscape.
This year marks the fourth year of the AP's updated voting system, which uses a points-based approach.
